      This is Mystie! So, I have some fun facts about the POTC ride in Disneyland that I found at http://disneylandnews.com. They are quite interesting, take a look :)

Disneyland Pirates of the Caribbean Secrets

• Pirates of the Caribbean was the last Disneyland attraction personally supervised by Walt Disney.

• The attraction was originally envisioned as a New Orleans-themed Blue Bayou Mart featuring a Pirate Wax Museum, housed in a 70-foot deep basement. The basement now serves as the grotto section of the attraction.

• Pirates of the Caribbean was loosely inspired by such Hollywood films as Captain Blood, The Sea Hawk and The Buccaneer, plus Disney’s Treasure Island, Kidnapped and Swiss Family Robinson.

• The fire effects in the Burning Town scene were so realistic that prior to the attraction’s grand opening the Anaheim Fire Chief asked that the effects automatically shut off in the event of a real fire.

• The attraction opened to the public at Disneyland on March 18, 1967, with an official grand opening on April 19.

• It cost $15 million to build New Orleans Square ($8 million of which was spent on Pirates of the Caribbean). This is equal to the amount the United States paid for the real New Orleans in the Louisiana Purchase of 1803

• The façade of the attraction was partly inspired by the Cabildo building in Jackson Square in New Orleans that served as the seat of the Spanish colonial government in 1799. It is also noted for being the site where the Louisiana Purchase was signed in 1803.

• The attraction is housed within two large show buildings totaling 112,826 feet and featuring 750,000 gallons of water that flow through a 1,838-foot canal.

• There are approximately 122 animated characters (68 lifelike humans and 54 animated animals) in the Audio Animatronics cast of Pirates of the Caribbean.

• Disney Imagineer X Atencio, who wrote the attraction’s memorable title tune – “Yo-Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me),” is the voice of the Jolly Roger skull and crossbones before you plunge down the waterfalls.

• The film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl had its world-premiere on June 28, 2003, at Disneyland in California and featured the longest red carpet in history (trailing from Main Street into New Orleans Square).

Happy Valentines Day, everyone! I hope you've had a wonderful time with that significant other (or best friend or family or jar of dirt with your enemies heart in it or computer!)

Because it's the holiday of love, I had each of the girls send two of their favorite ships to share with you. First, though, let's start with the major POTC pairings:

Lizzy and Will... along with Jack standing awkwardly to the side

See! Jacks always there, on the side, the awkward third wheel, even though the movie's about him.

Ok, Then we have Jack/Angelica

I cant wait for the next movie... What's she going to do with that voodoo doll?

The Crew's Choices

Syrena

Ok, you have NO IDEA how hard it was to get an answer from Syrena. She named just about every ship she ever took time to think about, but then decided on these two. 

Han and Leia

 "I like Han and Leia because they're just all together hilarious and adorable... especially when  they're worried about each other or Han calls Leia 'Your Worship'"

Clint/Natasha (Who dosent ship them?)

"I started shipping Clint and Natasha as soon as this amazing line came up:  Natasha: 'This is like Budapest all over again.'  Clint: 'You and I remember Budapest very differently.'  They just fit together so perfectly.  And I mean....come on....they flirt while shooting alien armies.....how cool is that?"

Quartermaster

well, after naming just about every couple that set foot on the set of Doctor who, talking about who she ships herself with (Loki and Thorin, btw) and how Misty left her phone at her house and they were texting from other phones and finally emailing and stuff.... she decided on the parents and the child/ son in law!

Amy/Rory (Parents first!)

"Alright, I'd say Amy adn Rory, because its completely epic and timey wimey and sweet and they waited and its was adorable and the sweetest romance ever."

River/11

"And I ship Eleven and River, because of their awesome timey wimey out of order beautiful romance and its sooo cute and I love the way they talk to each other and it's hilarious how they interact :)"

(Mystical Shadow also said 11/River: "because they have such awesome chemistry)

My ships! (Shaak Ti)

Oh good Lord was it hard for me to choose. First off, every Valentines I think of Han/Leia, but Syrena took that, and Clintasha, and Quartermaster took the Ponds, so what was I to do? Resort to my OTP to rule all OPTs!

Percy/Annabeth

I love how Rick spent 5 books building up the relationship between them. It's not like  "ok, they met, they fall in love, they get married", but they actually are best friends for FOUR ENTIRE YEARS before they get together. And they really didn't like each other at first. If they break up I will cry forever. Either they're together forever, or they both die in some horrible demi-god way.

Lupin and Tonks

Because they are perfect together, OK? They get married, have a kid, die. TRUE LOVE AT ITS GREATEST,  PEEPS!

And Lastly

I'm the one writing this post, so i get to do practically anything else that I want. Like add a few more ships!

All of us LOVE LOVE LOVE Han/Leia. Pretty obvious. Ten/Rose was another favorite, as well as Peter/Gwen. Luke and Mara make a great couple. Pretty much Han and Leia in reverse ;p.

PotC stuffs (and Harry Potter and X-Men)

Hi everyone, Shaak here. Happy new year! I hope you all have had a great Christmas and New Years!

Mine was pretty fun, I saw Les Mis twice (I cried my eyes out the first time, and again at the end the second time). Merlin ended, that wasn't too fun. But I got a really cool wand for Christmas!

And that reminds me that I finished Harry Potter

I have nothing left to do with my life... other than wait for POTC 5 and The Wolverine (OMG 7 MORE MONTHS!!!)

POTC 5&6 are supposedly shooting back to back, and that will probably happen late this year or 2014. scheduled Release date: 2015. That's all I know (Other than Johnny Depp will be in it, but that's pretty obvious).

Look at his face! He's like  "Nonono don't go there. Darn it, she's going to start talking about it. nonono. GOD HELP! Oh, good, she was just making a comment. How do I make her feel better? Oh! I've got rum! Here, love, I've got rum."

Movie Mistakes in POTC 1

If you're on this blog, you're probably bored, and if you're bored, this is a great video to watch!  Movie Mistakes from POTC 1!

Now, I like this thing, but the last "mistake" is untrue.  It could actually be possible if you were strong enough--but even if it weren't--it's also not possible to travel to the land of the dead and come back, and there are no such things as undead skeletons, mermaids, or zombies so...yeah.  Happy New Year!!!
